Geddon guys!

After living and working in and around Cornwall for the past few years I’ve decided it’s time to share the wonders and freedom of van-life with you all! Currently based in Bude I work as a support worker for young people of all ages as well as surf instructing during the summer months. Kooky Campervans has been in the pipeline for a few years now, and I’m delighted to finally be in a position where I can share it with you!

James and Carly

Having worked previously as a research and development technician for Nissan, I finished my HND in engineering and worked in France briefly before deciding that it wasn’t for me – I wanted to travel! Over the next few years I converted and lived in a number of vans, travelling through Europe with my then girlfriend. Resulting in a chance encounter with a lovely Cornish guy in the south of Spain who recommended heading to Polzeath for summer work (and of course surf). It was there that the idea for Kooky Campers was first born, over the course of a number of summers spent working and surfing and winters travelling overseas.

I loved the freedom that van-life provided, being able to park up for the night in some amazing locations before moving on the following day, making up plans as I went. I’ve been lucky enough to see some truly spectacular places on my travels and can say in all honesty that very few are as stunning and dramatic as the Cornish and Devonshire coast.

Cheeeeeeeers James
